(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 12, 2008 ) El Segundo, CA - The Optical Systems Division of Marshall Electronics announced today the release and availability of a new line of high temperature pinhole zoom lenses for harsh environment monitoring. The two new models include the V-ZPL-HITEMP-A (with two quartz front elements) and V-ZPL-HITEMP-B (with a sapphire and a quartz front element).
The use of high hardness optical elements, coupled with a stainless steel housing, permits reliable monitoring in harsh environments such as kilns, furnaces, and incinerators where high temperature, corrosion, and impact issues preclude the use of conventional lenses. The sapphire and quartz front elements permit short-term lens operation at much higher temperatures than possible with conventional glass elements. The V-ZPL-HITEMP-B sapphire front element together with its stainless steel housing greatly reduces potential impact damage from small gravel in kiln operations compared to other lenses.
The two zoom lenses feature a 3.6mm to 18.0mm focal length (5:1 zoom ratio), CCTV standard CS lens mount, and can be used with 1/3 inch image sensors. Users will be impressed by the performance, build quality, and low cost factor of this lens, according to Michael Nokleberg, Senior Project Manager at Marshall Electronics.
The list price for the V-ZPL-HITEMP-A and V-ZPL-HITEMP-B are $469 and $474 respectively, and the lenses are available now.
